What is a Macro?

A Macro is a sequence of commands that your robot follows, as if it were an actor reading a script. Some Macros have conditions, which creates more than one possible routine based on some form of feedback from the user or the environment.

Macros consist of actions, conditions, and BodyCons, which create a life-like script that gives RS Media personality. For example, a basic macro might begin when a specified button sequence is pushed, starting with a voice file, such as “Hey there!” followed by the condition to listen for a sound; if sound is detected, another voice file such as “Nice to meet you!” could be played, or if no sound is detected, “I must be hearing things.”

Overview

The Macro Editor is an advanced tool for you to create your own Macro files to be used by a personality of RS Media. You can specify the actions and responses of RS Media by creating Macro scripts such as the example above. You do not need to connect RS Media to your PC to create Macros, but you will need to load the Macros into a personality first, and then use Media Organizer to upload them.

Click on an icon to add actions and conditionals below it. If adding to conditionals, you have to select a path of the conditional to add to it. If selecting an end event, it will be replaced and bumped down.

If you “Remove” a conditional, it will only remove the “no” branch only, leaving the “yes” branch.

The Info window contains information about the current Macro being displayed.

There are two scroll bars in the Macro Editor; the one on the left of the window allows you to scroll up and down, while the one on the bottom allows you to scroll from left to right.

By clicking an icon, the Macro tree beneath it will centralize itself automatically within the window.
