Personalities

Overview
The Personality Editor contains four pre-programmed personalities and a custom personality for you to choose from. The default personality is RS Media, and will be active when he is first turned on.

Navigation
When opened, the default ‘RS Media’ personality information will load automatically. The window in the top left-hand corner will display a representation of the personality you are currently operating in.

To change the personality of your RS Media, click on one of the following personalities:

Select the RS Media personality to view and / or change the default personality.
Select this personality to view and / or change the Service Bot 3000 personality.
Select this personality to view and / or change the Space Bot personality.
Select this personality to view and / or change the Billy-Joe Sapien personality.
Use this personality template to create a completely new personality yourself.
  When the Customize button is clicked, the Save and Load buttons will also appear. See: Save Button and Load Button.

The About window contains information about the current RS Media personality being displayed.


Information Screen

Overview
The Information Screen will display all ‘General’ (see Information Buttons) information about the RS Media personality you have selected. The information displayed appears in three columns: Event Name, Description, and File.

The Event Name column will display the names of each BodyCon.

The Description column will display information about how each BodyCon will perform.

The File column will show the destination of each file folder.

Navigation
The top left of the screen displays ‘Left Click to Insert, Right Click to Clear’. These instructions relate to when you wish to add or delete a BodyCon from the Information Window.

The bottom left of the screen displays the BodyCon file your pointer arrow is travelling over. If your pointer arrow is not inside this window, there will be no file displayed.

There is a scroll bar on the right of the screen.

The Information window shows all file types by default, but you can specify the files you wish to view by clicking one of the Information Buttons.


Information Buttons

Overview
The ‘General’ button will be highlighted on any initial opening of a personality, or when entering Personality Editor. This will display all file types of the selected personality.

Navigation
Choose specific file types by clicking these buttons:

Click this button to display general audio files.
Click this button to display and add BodyCon files, including (*.bcn) and (*.sh) files. See: Macro Editor button.

 
 
BodyCons
BodyCons Select “BodyCons” from the lefthand panel. You will then see 12 BodyCons displayed in the main box. These can be changed by clicking on a path name under the “File” column and selecting a BodyCon file from a permanent location on your PC with the browser window.
 
 

Click this button to display audio files played during free roam mode.
Click this button to display audio files related to media functions.
Click this button to display audio files related to radar and sound.
Click this button to display audio files related to programming.
Click this button to display camera-related audio files.
Click this button to display audio files related to robot interactions.



Macro Editor Button

Overview
This button will take you to the Macro Editor; an advanced tool for you to create your own Macro files to be used in an RS Media personality. See: Macro Editor

Navigation
After clicking this button to open the BodyCon files, the Macro Editor button will appear.
Click this button to enter the Macro Editor.
Click this button to return to the BodyCon file window.
Click this button to enter the Editing Suite help function.



Load Button

Overview
The Load button allows you to load Personality files saved on your PC as *.per files. A *.per file will automatically open as the ‘Customize’ personality as the four default personalities cannot be altered.

Navigation
Use this button to load an existing custom personality.



Save Button

Overview
The Save button allows the personality you have compiled in the personality folder to be saved. A browser window will open and a destination folder can be chosen.

Tutorial Section

Information Buttons Tutorials
 
 
Voice Files

Select any of the other buttons on the left-hand panel. Two columns will be shown the first and second columns are for file identification, and are read only. Left click the “file” column to add new sound files from any permanent location on your PC these must be MP3 files (*.mp3) of less than 1 MB. NOTE: For BodyCon files (*.bcn) there is no size limit.
Clicking the first or second column will preview an audio file, but no movement files.

 
 


Macro Editor Button Tutorials
 
 
To add a macro or a BodyCon
1 To add a macro or a BodyCon
2 Click the “BodyCon” button on the left-hand panel
3 Select one of the 12 available BodyCon files Click on “Default” under the “File” column
4 Use the browser window to select the BodyCon that you saved, and click “Open”
5 Click “Save” and type in a file name for your new personality
 
 


Load Button Tutorials
 
 
To load a personalty
1 Click on the “Load” button.
2 Using the browser window, select a *.per file from your PC.
3 Confirm that you want to replace the customized personality by clicking “OK”
 
 


Save Button Tutorials
 
 
To save a personality
1 Modified personalities can only be saved by clicking the save button.
2 If you click on another personality without doing so, a window will pop up and ask you to save changes to the personality you are editing.
A warning will appear asking if you wish to save the Personality.
3 Default settings can be restored by loading the original.
per file onto the RS Media:

a Choose a personality [RS Media, Spacebot, ServiceBot 3000, Billy-Joe Sapien] that you wish to restore to its original settings
b Click “Load” on the toolbar; a browser window will pop up
c Select the appropriate .per file from the program’s “personality” folder under “RS MEDIA” in the browser window
 
 

 
 
To remove a file
1 Right click on the third column cell.
2 A window will pop up and ask you to confirm deletion.
3 Press “Yes” to delete the path.
4 The word “Default” will replace the path. RS Media will now use his default voice file.
 
 

 
 
To add a sound file
1 To add a sound file, Select a category from the left-hand panel other than ‘BodyCon,’ such as ‘General’
2 The sound files listed under ‘General’ will be displayed in the main window
3 Click on a sound file listed there, such as ‘REFUSE01’
4 Click on the the ‘File’ column
5 A browser window will pop up, allowing you to select a file from your PC
6 Choose the sound file you want and click ‘Open’
